Meet Andrew Dodson.
Hi, my name is Andrew Dodson and I’m the technology editor for TVNewsCheck.com
My journalism career started in 2009 at the Bay City Times and MLive.com in Michigan, where I initially covered local and statewide education issues. I was promoted to cover local and statewide business, including major companies like Dow Chemical Co., General Motors Corp. and the state’s growing alternative energy industry.
In November 2011, I left Michigan to move to Colorado to marry my wife Erin. Struggling to find newspaper work in Colorado after moving, I worked in marketing, but eventually started my own freelance writing business.
It just so happened that one of the companies I was freelance writing and reporting for was NetNewsCheck.com, the sister site of TVNewsCheck.com. In December 2012, TVNewsCheck offered me a full time position as their technology editor, covering the evolving television industry.
I’ve been learning a lot about the industry, what makes it tick and making some great connections. As the technology editor, it’s my goal to not only report on the latest and greatest technologies impacting the TV industry, but report and write stories in a way that everyone can understand — from the chief engineer at a TV station to the Average Joe that might find themselves on our website.
My wife Erin and I moved out of downtown Denver and now reside in beautiful Golden, Colo., where it’s sunny more than 300 days a year.
